NEWS UPDATE FROM DANIEL

Hi there
Majella and I got back to Tenerife this week. The last update was from New York. We had a wonderful New Year with our friends. The cruise, as I said was part of Majella's 50th birthday celebrations but I couldn't say much about it because the same friends we spent New Year with, were joining us on the cruise but she didn't know. I have never had to tell so many lies in my life and I was glad when we finally got on the ship as I was afraid that someone would let the cat out of the bag and spoil the surprise. We had a wonderful time and we celebrated Majella's 50th in style, even though it was 3 months early. (She keeps telling me she's still only 49. Trying to hold on to the last few weeks!!)
Prior to coming to Tenerife, I attended a couple of Dinner Dances in the UK. One was in Ipswich and the other in Blackburn. These evenings have taken place every year for a quite awhile now. I really enjoy them as it gives me the opportunity to get together with some of the fans in an informal way. In Ipswich, Martin Ruddy provided the music for the evening. Martin is from County Mayo in Ireland but he lives in the UK. He is a great singer and I really enjoy his music. In Blackburn, the main band on the night was Shaun Cuddy, although a host of other singers and musicians took part. Shaun really is one of the best entertainers you could possibly go to dance to. If he is ever in your area, you should make a point of going to see him.
We will be here in Tenerife until the end of February although we will be attending a friends wedding next week in Ireland. Myself and John Staunton will be going to Mrs Days in Soham in the UK where we will join Bob Brolly and Fergal Flaherty for a charity evening. Fergal has a new album out and he is releasing a charity single just before St. Patricks Day. I´ll tell you more about it in the next update.
Majella and I are having a really relaxing time here. We haven´t even gone out at night yet! We over indulged on the cruise because the food was soooo good so now it´s time to cut back!
